This hike takes you back into history during the Anglo Boer war that was fought from 1899 to 1902 between the British and the Boere with beautiful views of Hartbeespoort dam and surroundings. On your way to Silkaatsnek you will pass the remains of British sangars, a block house service road and 4 block houses ruins that was built during the war. This hike will give you an idea of what it was like to walk the Magaliesberg like the soldiers did 120 years ago.With luck you might hear the giggles and bark of the wild dogs at the Ann van Dyk Cheetah centre on your way down.
